My liquor depot looks right at home on my "Logan Central" late 1970s layout. Set in East Texas, circa 1979, the LC is a woodchip/pulpwood hauler (named for my oldest son) that interchanges with the Missouri Pacific. My liquor depot looks great amid run-down buildings and the pulpwood siding.
Rather than paint mine white, as the kit suggest, I instead painted my building Bomber Tan, with white trim around the sides and a faded white trim along the top.
After painting, I weathered using a mixture of gray, rust and weathered brown, then lightly sprayed more bomber tan on to give it a very old look. I can almost smell the dingy stanch of a cigar and beer odor inside.
The kit comes with great decals and the sign looks good on top. If you like building kits, then this kit is for you. It took me about two days a slow pace to finish my Liquor Depot.
